Derrick Freeman’s Smokers World

Typically the familiar face sitting behind the drums with Kermit Ruffins & the BBQ Swingers, Derrick Freeman has recently taken charge of Smokers' World, a wide-ranging genre-defying group led by his alter ego Mr. Smoker. Their debut album It Is What It Is merges the soul of New Orleans with the strut of Houston, the strings of Memphis and the swamps of Mississippi. An eclectic boogaloo to say the least, Freeman & Smokers' World are sure to suck you in to their sounds and send you off reeling in their rhythms.
