Free until 3!
NEW: The economics of providing a totally free festival are challenging (and rest largely on the changing realities of weather!) To offset the substantial costs of production, infrastructure, security and other fixed festival expenses, the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo will now be Free Until 3. Anyone arriving before 3:00 p.m. will enter free of charge; after 3:00 p.m., festival goers will be charged a gate fee. Friday will be a $5 entry fee. Saturday and Sunday will be a $10 entry fee. Three-day wristbands are available in advance for $20, and those with wristbands will have re-entry privileges. Children under 12 are free all day.
Note: If you have a Canopy Club Pass, you do not need to purchase GA admission. Canopy Club Weekend and Day Passes also include entry into the festival.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN OUTSIDE BEVERAGES!
The Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo is produced by Friends of Bayou St. John (formerly called MotherShip Foundation) , a 501(c)(3) public charity. Boogaloo’s presenting sponsor is also a nonprofit organization, Positive Vibrations Foundation. This is not one of those corporate events where some fat cat is sitting back and getting rich. People who bring their own beverages into the festival are not pulling one over on “the man,” they’re cheating a charity out of its main revenue stream while enjoying all of the programming and infrastructure that working-class folks have made possible.
Ways to support Friends of Bayou St. John and all of our amazing community partner organizations:
- Enjoy a beverage… or two… or your personal, responsible limit.
- Remember that the money you spend to get in goes the extra mile and benefits our Community Partners too!
- Visit our Merchandise booth! You can check out our stock online.
- BECOME A MEMBER! MotherShip Foundation offers MemberShips as low as $25 that provide perks year-round. All MemberShips come with a discount card that pays for itself many times over. You can also become a Canopy Club Member and enjoy VIP privileges at the Boogaloo!
